You are required to publish large numbers of legislative
and procedural documents onto your intranet and web site.
You have decided to standardise on PDF for your web publications.
The creators of these documents are experienced with desktop
applications like Microsoft Office and Lotus Smartsuite but
are not familiar with web technologies like HTML, hyperlinks,
and PDF conversion. The documents are currently in the standard
office format so you now face the challenge of converting
them, publishing them to the web site, linking them in, and
then keeping them up to date.
Without PDFMoto this is a difficult task and will require
either more web staff and or the original authors retraining.
In addition it will likely require new working practices to
be introduced and systems setting up to cater for document
updates
With PDFMoto this challenge becomes simple. All the original
document authors need to do is place their documents in the
appropriate folder on the network. PDFMoto will then take
these documents, automatically convert them to PDF, then automatically
publish them, taking into account all web issues such as hyperlinking.
If one of your users then modifies their document (using their
familiar office product) PDFMoto will notice this and automatically
refresh the web site with the modified document.
