What is PDFMoto?
PDFMoto is a web publishing system. It converts documentation
produced in Windows desktop applications into PDF format and
then publishes them to a web site.
How does PDFMoto Work?
PDFMoto is configured to monitor a network directory. When
a user creates a new document in that directory (or one of
the sub directories) or modifies an existing document PDFMoto
will convert that document into PDF format then automatically
publish it to the appropriate area on your web site.
Do users require additional
skills to use PDFMoto?
No. Users do not need to know anything about either PDF or
web publishing to use PDFMoto. All they have to do is create
and modify material in their familiar applications, PDFMoto
does the rest.
Can I modify a Web site
created by PDFMoto to fit my corporate look and feel?
Yes, PDFMoto sites can be tailored to match your existing
corporate design.
How many documents can
PDFMoto manage?
Theoretically up to 250 million. Our free product can handle

How many folders can
PDFMoto monitor?
Theoretically this is unlimited.
Can I publish a document
to more than one destination?
Yes. You can publish a document to multiple destinations.
You can for example publish a document to both the intranet
and internet sites.

How long does it take to
integrate PDFMoto material with my web site?
Minutes.
What do I need to run PDFMoto?
PDFMoto is designed to run on Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000,
Windows 2003 and Windows XP. In addition you will also need
a web server that supports either asp, jsp or php scripting
technologies. ASP requires a minimum of Microsoft's MSXML3.
PHP Requires installing the "expat" XML library
and "sablot" xslt libraries on the system and then
compiling the PHP server with support for XML and XSLT. JSP
Requires a server with JDK 1.4 and Tomcat V4 or greater. Finally
you will need to install a single copy of the desktop application
that produced the original document on the same machine as
PDFMoto.
What does the client need
to view a PDFMoto site?
All the client needs is a standard browser and the Adobe
Acrobat Reader (or equivalent).
Which Web Servers is
PDFMoto compatible with?
PDFMoto is compatible with any web server that can run asp,
php or jsp scripting. Examples of web servers that run these
technologies are Microsoft IIS and Apache.
Which Browsers is PDFMoto
compatible with?
PDFMoto has been designed to run with Microsoft Internet
Explorer version 4 and greater and Netscape Navigator 6 and
greater.
Does PDFMoto run under
UNIX?
No, PDFMoto requires a Windows operating system. It can however
publish material to web servers running under any operating
system including Mac and UNIX.
